The renovation of the 4-star AZIMUT hotel in St. Petersburg has been completed. The works lasted from 2013, and during this time the former Soviet hotel turned into a modern congress hotel, one of the largest in the Northern capital.
The building of AZIMUT Hotel St. Petersburg, constructed in 1967, gained distinction almost immediately after its appearance as the highest in the city. At that time, it was the prestigious Sovetskaya Hotel. Its striking feature was the panoramic views of the city. Today, the hotel building still rises above the buildings of the historical district of St. Petersburg.
In 2015 the hotel went under the AZIMUT Hotels management, and in 2013-2014, the first stage of renovation took place here. He involved 323 rooms, as well as the famous SKY-Bar, whose visitors could admire the city from the height of the 18th floor. The result of this work was the receipt of a 4-star category in 2017. Currently, the second stage of renovation has been completed, during which the remaining 260 rooms have been updated and aligned with the requirements of the SMART concept.After the second stage of renovation, the hotel’s foundation was replenished with 20 spacious SMART-Family rooms and one 3-room suite. SMART-Family rooms of 30 square meters are intended for families with children and consist of two rooms and iare equiepped with a bunk bed for children in addition to the double bed. The 50 SMART-Junior Suite rooms are distinguieshed by a larger area with a guest and sleeping area - they are well suited for long trips and business trips. In addition, the hotel has SMART-Standard, SMART-Single and SMART-Executive rooms. The latter are located on a separate Executive floor offering panoramic views of the city, here the breakfast is served for guests.
