Shchurovo gorodische museum: old slavic settlment
On the territory of AZIMUT Hotel Suzdal there is an open-air museum Shchurovo Gorodishche representing the old Slavic settlement .
The basis of the museum's exposition is the scenery for the film “The Tsar” (2009) by director Pavel Lungin about the era of the Russian Tasr Ivan Groyniy (the Terrible),16th century. Before you go to AZIMUT Suzdal, review this film so that later, during your walk, look for places where the movie scenes were filmed.
On the museum's territory you will see residential and household buildings of the Slavs: wooden chopped huts, a clay oven of the 10th century for baking bread, a log cabin semi-dugout, a bread house, an armory, a forge, barns, a camp kitchen of the old Russian army.
At the Old Slavic shooting range you can try your hand at archery.
Special delight for young and adult guests is a mini-zoo with domestic and wild animals.
