The Nuremberg Castle is an architectural complex which includes the Emperor’s Castle, the castle of the imperial city and the burgrave castle. We suggest that you go and see the Round Tower from which you can admire a great view on the city, as well as the Deep Well which was cut deep into the rock in order to secure water supply to the castle.
German National Museum in Nuremberg is the largest museum in Germany preserving over 1.3 millions of works, among which there are paintings and sculptures of German master artists from the Middle Ages and early Renaissance. When in Nuremberg, one must taste fried Bratwürste (Nuremberg sausages), which most restaurants serve with sauerkraut or mashed potatoes; also try Lebkuchen (gingerbread). All this is available at the legendary Bratwursthäusle restaurant or in the establishments on Königstraße (King’s street).
Volksfest is a beer festival which is organized twice a year gathering over one million guests. Rock im Park is an outdoor rock music festival and Klassik Open Air is a classical music festival that are both very popular with the guests of the city and local citizen.
